Windows 10 Notice and Instructions

Recently, we were made aware that Microsoft is automatically upgrading PCs with Windows 7 OS to Windows 10 OS. Not all of Topcon’s products that utilize a PC are compatible with Windows 10 OS. Most, if not all, PCs that come from Topcon have “automatic software updates” turned off; however, locally purchased PCs may not have implemented this setting.

We are working with Microsoft to fix this issue but in the interim please perform the following steps to check if your PC has automatic updates turned off and, if necessary, to turn off automatic updates.
1.) Click on the “Start Button”.
2.) In the Search Box, type “Windows Update”.
3.) Windows Update should open now. In the left pane, click on “Change Settings”.
4.) In the “Important Updates” section, “Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them” should be selected.
5.) In the “Recommended Updates” section, please make sure that this box is unchecked.
6.) In the “Who can install updates” section, please make sure that this box is unchecked.
7.) Hit OK at the bottom of the pane.
